Are you looking at  2007 the Ford F150 truck and wondering whether or not this particular year is a good option?

The 2007 Ford F150 is a good truck. It has plenty of power and can handle a lot of weight, but it does have some issues. In this article, we’ll talk about the issues that affect the 2007 model year of the Ford F150.

Is the 2007 Ford F150 a Good Year?

Yes, the 2007 Ford F150 is a good year for the F-150. It has some problems, but it’s still a great choice if you’re looking for a truck. Will these problems give you headaches down the line though? In the rest of this article, we will be looking into this to help you make a better decision on this truck.

Common Problems With the 2007 Ford F150

You should be aware that a large number of 2007 F150 owners have reported transmission failure. In some cases, transmission failure is due to a bad torque converter.

Other times, the problem is with the gearbox and shift cable assembly. Other problems that have been reported before include:

  • Engine rough idle and stalling
  • Shaky steering

These are the most common issues, however, with the transmission and engine, but you could also have problems with the brakes, suspension, and steering.

These are things to watch out for when checking a 2007 model year of the F150. You might need to consider bringing your mechanic along for the test drive so that he may be able to pick out any issues with the truck. Let’s take a closer look at some of the main problems.

1. 2007 Ford F150 Transmission Failure

Transmission failure can be caused by a bad torque converter, transmission control module, or transmission sensor. It can also be caused by a problem with your transmission fluid.

If this happens to you, you may have to get it towed to the dealership for repairs. If your Ford F150 starts making noise while driving and it feels like the engine is struggling to go faster than 10 miles per hour, check the fluid level in your transmission.

If there isn’t enough fluid in there, it could mean that the clutch plates inside of it are starting to wear out (which means they will no longer work properly). You’ll want to call someone like your mechanic so they can take care of this issue before something bad happens.

2. Rough Idle and Other Engine Issues

The first thing to check is your oil level and the condition of your fuel filter. The next items on the list are a clogged air filter, a clogged fuel injector, a clogged throttle body, and an engine misfire. If you’re still having trouble after checking these things out, you may want to consider taking your vehicle to a mechanic for further inspection and troubleshooting.

3. Shaky Steering

  • The steering system is very sensitive to the slightest movement of the steering wheel.
  • Steering feel is also affected by tire pressure and alignment. If you have a bad alignment, this will make the steering system more sensitive.

Are there any Recalls on a 2007 Ford F150?

There are no recalls for the 2007 Ford F150 involving the issues highlighted in this post. However, the 2007 and 2008 models that had been altered to use liquid propane were recalled.

The cause was a hydro-carbon paper attached to the inside of the airbox becoming dislodged. The recall fixed this problem. The following were the possible outcomes of this problem:

  •  The engine may fail due to a faulty timing chain guide and sprockets (both models). The engine could stop working while you’re driving or even while idling at a stoplight!

My Overall Thoughts

The Ford F150 has developed a great reputation over the years with good reason. It is a great truck that has proven to be reliable over the years. That being said, no vehicle is 100% perfect and this is the case with the 2007 model year of F150.

I hope that this article has helped you gain a better understanding of the problems you may encounter with this model year. Having said that, most of the problems except the transmission issue are easy and inexpensive to fix.
