There are a lot of trucks on the road these days. From the Ford F150 to the Chevy Silverado, there are tons of trucks for you to choose from. In this article I’ll go over the differences between two models: the Ford F150 xlt and the fx4 just in case you’re trying to decide which is best for your needs.

What is Ford XLT?

The Ford XLT is a short acronym for Extra Luxurious truck Based on the description given by Ford motors, it’s also a trim level package on the Ford F-150. The XLT is one of the most popular options for those who want some extra luxury features.

The XLT has been around since the ’70s and has always been one of the most popular packages for F-150 owners. It comes with a variety of features that make it stand out from other models in its class, including:

  •  Chrome bumpers
  •  Hubcaps
  • Side mirrors
  • Heated seats
  • Center console
  •  Carpeting
  •   Bucket seats

All these features were included with the XLT option.

The most important thing about this model is that it offers many features at an affordable price point. This allows you to get more bang for your buck when compared to other trim levels.

What is the Ford fx4?

An FX4 package is an available option for most Ford trucks that offer a variety of off-road features. It was simply known as the off-road package.

Each model has different features. However, in general, the FX4 package has more noteworthy features including;

  •  A locking rear differential
  • Skid plates
  • And an improved suspension
  • Hill Descent Control
  •  Black mirror caps

The ford Fx4 has other notable features which will also include visual improvements through external graphics.

What is the difference between xlt and fx4?

If you’re shopping for a Ford truck, you’ve probably noticed that there are several different trim levels and packages available. One of the most popular options is the FX4 package, which adds the off-road capability to Ford’s F-150 trucks. But what exactly is the difference between XLT and FX4?

The primary distinction between FX4 and XLT is that the latter is a package while the former is a trim level. This means that an XLT can have any number of options added to it, but it will still be an XLT. An F-150 with an FX4 package has all of those options included in one package.

So what do these packages include? The biggest difference between an F-150 with an XLT or FX4 package is in their off-roading ability. The FX4 comes with larger tires, electronic locking rear axles and hill descent control to help improve traction on steep grades or slippery surfaces like sand or mud.

It also has some unique styling cues like black mirror caps and bumpers with skid plates on them to protect against collision damage when off roading.

Ford XLT Pros and Cons

The Ford F-150 is the most popular pickup truck in America. The Ford F150 XLT is the most popular trim package on the F-150. So, what are the pros and cons of this pickup?

Pros

  • The truck is affordable for most people. It’s not cheap, but it’s far from being a luxury car. You can get a lot of features for your money with this truck.
  • The XLT model comes with some cool features at no extra cost. Some of these include heated seats, power windows and locks, keyless entry and cruise control.

Cons

  •  Price – The XLT starts at $38,000 so it’s not cheap by any means but it does offer good value for your money since.

Ford fx4 pros and cons

PROS

  •  The Ford F-150 FX4 is a 4×4 truck. It has a powerful engine, which makes it ideal for off-road driving. The truck has good fuel economy and can tow up to 14,000 pounds.

Cons

  •    The interior of this truck is nothing special. It’s comfortable enough for longer trips, but it isn’t luxurious. If you’re looking for comfort over performance then this might not be the right vehicle for you.

Which one is better between XLT and FX4?

The short answer is that they’re both great trucks, with only few differences between them. The longer answer is that the difference between an XLT and FX4 depends on what you want out of your truck.

The XLT has all the bells and whistles of the F-150, with more options available to customize your truck to your needs. If you don’t need something too fancy, but still want a reliable pickup truck for work or play, the XLT is a great choice.

The FX4 version adds some extras to make it more off-road capable. It comes with skid plates under the engine and transmission as well as an electronic locking rear differential and more.
